Patricia McBride - a character from the previous episode returns here. In this she’s travelled o a clinic in Sweden, kind of a luxury spa, a place to roll back the years, quite literally in this case…


Its an interesting start as Mel has been working there undercover for a couple of weeks. Not only that but she makes contact with Patricia before Patricia phones Hebe to ask them to help! Its a nice bit of time travel trickery that sets up the tome for the story.


As mentioned the facility has the ability to ‘make people younger’, by use of a time machine. Not like the TARDIS, its a bit more in vein of the Red Dwarf episode where they could digitise time. Meaning there’s Neanderthals, as the rejuvenation of wealthy patients is just the tip of the iceberg in where their research is going.


The build up to the cliffhanger is where the really interesting stuff starts, theres are some nice ideas leading to points where you feel quite in the moment. The cliffhanger itself, or rather its resolution is a bit of a let down.


The second have is a bit more of a run around and Idid lose interest.


Once again, Americanisms, in this case ‘elevators’, and like an audio I listened not that long ago, one minute saying elevators and then also referring to them as lifts. 


Some nice ideas, Hebe is not as harsh as she seems in the first set. A standard adventure.

The Iron Maid The Companion Chronicles 12.3 14th  century and a church in France is where The Doctor, Jamie and Zoe find themselves… I’m writing this more fro completion that anything else. I have been struggling with audios lately, just not being able to get into them. This just didn’t engage me, its a bit slow, I should probably give it another go but I don’t really see much reason. Though this is a Zoe/Wendy Padbury story Frazer Hines also features playing Jamie and the second Doctor. There is a scene where Wendy does narrate instead which felt a little odd, the audio doesn’t make the best use of Frazer. The plot itself is about relics from a war, but a war in the future. Its not a bad premise, but the style of the audio isn’t one that excites me.

The Lumiat                                         Missy 2.1                          Missy, up to her old tricks of stirring up the red and the black ants. Only this time its people. All going well (or bad depending on your viewpoint) until a timelady appears, it has to be the Doctor doesn’t it? Who else could it be? I listened to this twice - a couple of months apart. The first time I felt it was OK, but seeing the reviews and it having been rated quite highly, I thought perhaps I’d missed something. The Lumiat: she’s has been in a couple of other audios (Masterful and Timelord Immemorial)  - both of which I’ve heard but in the wrong order. Gina Mckee pays the Lumiat, for me always remembered for being on the Lenny Henry show. I don't really remember much about her from those audios though. With the Lumiat showing up ...
