Refuge
Blake’s 7 Crossfire 4.10
The war between the presidents is taking its toll on the people. Can the gang help?
There is some nice discussion between the Liberator crew at the start, How to bring the war to an end sooner, for the good of the people who are suffering? The answer is obvious, but its up to Avon to suggest it, and its not a popular option.
It does seem they’re going to take decisive action and looks to be an interesting audio, but then they get waylaid. In the middle of nowhere away from the space lanes there’s another ship, emitting an encoded message. With the pilot an old acquaintance of Villa’s he’s in a good position to find out why he’s carrying people in cryogenicc sleep.
This ticks all the boxes, though its not the adventure as it began as. Double dealings, friends who aren’t to be trusted, misdirection, the federation ever present, its got all the classic hallmarks.
It is nice to have the full gang, with Yasmin Bannerman doing a great job as Dayna. Though the conversations at the beginning I found the most interesting the eventual story was perfectly fine, and fleshes out a bit of Villa’s past
A nice episode.
