A Russian cosmonaut is nearing Mars, Ace is in wartime Germany while The Doctor and Mel are in present day UK, the Russian communist Uk that is….

I had thought that perhaps Ace wasn’t in this, as they mention they dropped her off. But when the story picks up she’s saved a man from being killed as he was attempting to get over the wall. Things aren’t so good for the Doctor and Mel though, as Mel remembers a different timeline to what really happened. At one point a president Reagan is mentioned, the disbelief that the actor Ronald Reagan could become president of the USA, Is there no one else called Reagan?

I listened to just over the first episode when I had to stop, and was disappointed I had to wait to carry on. We don’t really know what’s going on, but its intriguing. We’re not giving a lot of info as the details are revealed slowly. But it has to do with what’s on Mars.

Ace introduces herself as Dorothy it's a bit strange to hear her called it. She did use Mcshane for a while. With her being in Germany and the alternative timeline it does have a feeling of the audio Colditz  about it.

By the time we get to episodes 3 and 4 not a huge amount has actually happened, The Cosmonaut is still hovering around Mars, Ace is still dealing with the man who was shot, Mel and the Doctor have split up and  got back together again. So it is that last part where it action really is.

I enjoyed it but I feel that it could have been better.

Power Game  Doctor Who the Monthly Range 248b Kamelion has been missing for three weeks, its York, the 1980’s and that’s just the beginning. This hits the ground running, but not only has Kamelion gone but now they’ve lost Tegan as well. Tegan herself finds she’s on a TV gameshow, how she got there is a bit of a mystery as she no idea how shearrived. The show pops up at various times on different channels in the middle of other programs. It’s a good start, no faffing about and with this a two parter that’s probably a good idea. The Tv show gives contestants challenges, when they fail they’re out, interestingly enough there are no prizes, and the contestants soon forget about their real lives.  It’ll be no surprise that the gameshow isn’t real and is a veneer for what’s really going on. The Quest of the Engineer                                     The Fourth Doctor Adventures 9.4                                               On a planet that reconfigures it surface, the Doctor, Romana, Adric and K9 are seeking info on a CVE. They encounter the ‘Engineer’ who is also interested in CVE’s, though there is more to him and the planet than at first seems. I had to check that I had started with part one, as it begins with Adic having been arrested for taking K9 though the streets where technology is forbidden. They meet Rigis Tel played by George Layton (perhaps more noted in DW circles as being the Space pirates) and go on to find the truth about the planet.
